It’s no secret that the Leadership Institutes here in our Portland, Oregon office are our favorite times in the year! During the Institutes, we open our office to members of our partner schools and enjoy three days of collaborating on curriculum, sharing best practices, and of course, indulging in local Portland treats, like Blue Star Donuts. We provide the time, space, and empowerment for both teachers and administrators to better articulate their curriculum goals and build their own curriculum toolkits.
Two teachers at our July Institute approached the session with a bit of hesitation: What are we going to walk away with? How can we take some useful tips back to our team? For Kimberly Price and Tamsyn Dreps, a second grade and kindergarten teacher at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, the Institute was all about goal-setting. After attending our Teacher-Centric Atlas session, full of 12 Tips and Tricks specifically geared toward how teachers make meaning of curriculum mapping, Kimberly and Tamsyn offer their perspective and enthusiasm in a short share-out with our team.
